A local man is back behind bars for failing to register as a sex offender.
Eric Lanier is listed in the Pitt County Jail as a resident of Ayden, but he was convicted of indecent liberties with a child in 2009 in Beaufort County.
The 25-year-old is being held under a $2,500 bond.
