We're working to get details on a man charged with the statutory rape of a young child.
Alex Artis, Jr., 19 of the Pitt County town of Grifton was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center Thursday. He's charged with the statutory rape of a child between the ages of 4 and 6, along with one count of identity theft. Artis is being held under a $155,000 bond ahead of his first court appearance Friday morning.
