Greenville Property Taxes Not Going Up

Good news for Greenville residents: property taxes will not go up during the next fiscal year.

The Greenville City Council decided Monday night to move forward with the budget based on a 52-cent tax rate per $100 valuation, which is the current rate. According to city officials, this will result in approximately $2.1 million dollars less revenue than in the current Fiscal Year which ends on June 30, 2012.

The City Council plans to hold a budget workshop later this month. A public hearing is scheduled for June 11 with a tentative vote scheduled for June 14.
