UPDATE: Greenville Paving Project Postponed

Plans to begin resurfacing some busy roads in Greenville have been delayed.

The start date for paving on Arlington Boulevard and Red Banks Road is now Monday, June 4.

Ronnie Donley, Street Superintendent for the City of Greenville says that when work does begin, crews will work on the streets with the most impact to traffic after the evening rush hour ends and before the morning rush hour begins.

East Arlington from Red Banks Rd. to Mulberry Ln. will be worked on from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Red Banks Rd. from Arlington Blvd. to Charles Blvd. will also be worked on from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

Daytime work is planned for red Banks from Charles Blvd. to E. 14th St., from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

A month long resurfacing project is scheduled to begin Tuesday on a couple of heavily traveled roads.

Arlington Boulevard and Red Banks Road in Greenville are slated for paving. Crews will begin milling Red Banks between Charles Boulevard and East 14th Street Tuesday. Drivers should expect some delays are crews may need to shift traffic as work progresses.

The project is expected to be finished by June 29.

Rain is expected Tuesday afternoon, with heavier rain from Tropical Depression Beryl expected to arrive late Tuesday night and persist Wednesday. The weather could delay the start of the project.
