Greenville Woman Arrested For Setting Fire To Myrtle Street Home

A Greenville woman is in jail after police charged her with setting fire to a vacant home earlier this summer.

34-year-old Kimona Randolph was arrested by Greenville police shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Randolph is facing a charge for second degree arson and breaking or entering.

She is charged in connection with the June 28th fire in the 1300 block of Myrtle Street.

That fire broke out around 4:15 a.m. with flames coming out of the single story home. Firefighters got the blaze under control in about 15 minutes and declared the fire intentionally set.

The home is owned by Benny Roundtree, former state president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Investigators say it had no electrical or gas service since June 18th.

Randolph's bond was set at $20,000 ahead of her first court appearance.
