Woman Linked To Disabled Man's Murder Due In Court

The only person charged so far in connection to the murder of a disabled, Greenville man is due in court Thursday.

Online court records show 26-year-old Colby Harding goes before a judge in district court in Pitt County.

Her charge in connection to Geoffrey Kenan's murder case is conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Greenville police said Harding is the one who called 911 after the murder.

Detectives said they still anticipate making more arrests in that case.

A Greenville woman is charged in connection with a homicide, roughly six months after it took place.

26-year-old Colby Harding was arrested Wednesday afternoon on outstanding warrants.

Greenville police said Harding is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a dangerous weapon. She is being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

Officers said the charges are in connection with the Moseley Drive homicide from June 2013, where 47-year-old Geoffrey Kenan was found dead in his apartment.

At the time, friends told WITN that Kenan was a paraplegic who lived there alone. His web site said he was a motivational speaker who co-founded Motivational Empowerment Network. The victim was also a member of the Greenville Human Relations Council.

On Wednesday, police said Harding was the person who called 911 after Kenan's murder.

An arrest warrant says an unknown black woman, and a black man robbed the victim.

Authorities said more arrests are anticipated in the case. Harding's next court date is February 6th and her bond was set at $50,000.

A member of Greenville's Human Relations Council was found dead in his apartment early Tuesday morning and police continue to investigation how he died.

47-year-old Geoffrey Kenan's death is being investigated as a homicide, according to police.

The man's body was found around 3:25 a.m. in his Moseley Drive apartment.

Friends say Kenan was a paraplegic who lived there alone. His web site says he was a motivational speaker who co-founded Motivational Empowerment Network.

Police say after responding to a report of suspicious activity around 3:25 a.m., officers found the victim dead inside the apartment at 3230-F Moseley Drive.

According to a 911 call, an unidentified woman called them and claimed someone had robbed her. She told dispatchers the robbers took her to Kenan's apartment where they robbed and beat him.

Police have not said whether they have any suspects in the case or not.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Pitt County Medical Examiner's Office said the autopsy on Kenan's body was complete, but referred WITN to Greenville police for any details.

Wednesday morning, police told us Kenan's cause of death is still pending.
