Greenville Mayor, New Councilmembers Sworn In

Allen Thomas was sworn in to his second term as Greenville Mayor Monday night.

Thomas beat Thomas Best in the November election to hold onto his seat.

City councilman Calvin Mercer took the oath as councilman at large, and was also selected as Mayor Pro Tem.

Two new councilmembers were also sworn in. Rick Smiley was elected to Mercer's old seat, while Rick Croskery replaces Max Joyner, who chose not to run for another term.

Smiley told us, "I feel honored and humbled to be able to do this, and I'm looking forward to this work, and I really appreciate the support and confidence people have shown in me."

Croskery said, "Ready to get started with the process. I know I have a lot to learn, but I feel like I also have a lot to offer, and I'm ready to get started."
