Greenville City Council Races


Here's a look at the Greenville City Council races.

So far one race has been decided.

Marion Blackburn has won re-election to her District 3 seat. She defeated Katherine Wetherington 52% to 48%. Blackburn had 856 votes while Wetherington had 778 votes, a difference of just 78 votes.

Kandie Smith has also won re-election to her District 1 seat. She defeated Clinton Anderson Jr. 70% to 30%. Smith had 976 votes to Anderson's 416.

In the Greenville City Council At Large Seat Calvin Mercer defeated Dennis Mitchell 52% to 48%. Mercer had 5,375 votes to Mitchell's 4,916. Mitchell was the incumbent here.

In District 4 with all 9 precincts reporting, Rick Smiley and Terri Williams each have 50% of the vote. Smiley has 1,556 votes, while Williams has 1,543 votes for a difference of 13 votes.

In the District 5 race Richard Croskery defeated Michael Overton and James Woodley. Croskery had 51% of the vote to Overton's 45% and Woodley's 4%. Croskery had 1,392 votes, Overton 1,247, and Woodley 104.
