As plans for a major street connection in Greenville continues to move forward, some local business owners feel like they're being kept in the dark.

Tuesday night in Greenville local business owners and members of the N.C. Department of Transportation met to discuss the 10th Street Connector plan and how it will affect surrounding areas. Some businesses will lose parts of their property like parking lots, and others will lose their buildings entirely. The connection would extend 10th Street from the 14th Street and Farmville Boulevard intersection to the Memorial Drive and Stantonsburg Road intersection. Jannette Cox organized the meeting, and said heated discussions on this issue are nothing new.

"No, it doesn't surprise me. I've been dealing with this for 7 years now and I've seen all kinds of things happen and people are passionate about their business, just like I am," said

The D.O.T. Says it will look into each case to communicate exactly what the options are for each business.
