With East Carolina University students moving back in this weekend, owners of restaurants and bars in downtown Greenville are expecting a big turnout especially on the first Friday night.
"Business drives up about 70%. All these students coming back they're excited. They all go out because they wanna see their friends that they missed over the summer, and everyone that worked their jobs- they're looking to spend the money that they made," said Stilllife General Manager Travis Hixon.
Students agree the first weekend back is a big one.
"I think it is, yeah. I've got some buddies coming in from Raleigh tonight so it should be a good time," said Chris Alex Caxtiner
senior studying Hospitality Management.
With only one year left, Chris and his friend Alex say they want to enjoy the end of their college experience, but both are still focused on the future and their educations.
"Opportunities are going to come after college so anything I can get after college. Hopefully open up a restaurant in the future," said .
"Gotta still get in gear and get back into school. Try to, try to get somewhere, you know?" said Alex Gennotta a senior studying communications.
That's not a bad mindset, because when the weekend ends, its back to school for ECU students. Thursday was the first day students could move in, and classes at ECU start on Tuesday.
