UPDATE: Greenville Wins In A Walk-Off, Advances To Bracket Play

A walk-off win has propelled the Greenville 13U Babe Ruth team into the bracket round of the World Series in Kitsap County, Washington.

Greenville trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. After two singles, a sacrifice bunt and a walk, Skylar Best hit a two-run double to give Greenville a 6-5 win.

The victory sends the North Carolina boys into bracket play on Monday. They'll play Waite Park, Minnesota at 8 pm PST. The winner of that game will play Tri-Valley California in the semifinals on Tuesday.

The Greenville 13U Babe Ruth team dropped its second game of pool play to Tri-Valley, California Saturday night in the Babe Ruth World Series.

Tri-Valley scored 7 runs in the bottom of the first inning to pace an 11-3 victory.

Greenville will face Schererville, Indiana Sunday in their final game of pool play.

Kitsap County, Washington -- Greenville beat Burlington, Washington 11-0 in five innings at the Babe Ruth World Series to run their pool play record to 1-1.

Greenville lost the opening game of pool play 4-0 to Monroe Township, New Jersey.

Drew Steele was named player of the game after going 4-for-4 at the plate and driving in four runs.

Greenville had Friday off before playing consecutive pool play games on Saturday and Sunday night. Single elimination bracket play begins on Monday.
