The Greenville 13 year old baseball team lost 4-0 to Monroe Township, New Jersey in game one of pool play at the World Series in Kitsap County, Washington.
The all-stars from New Jersey scored a run in the first, a run in the fourth and then two more runs in the seventh while holding Greenville to just four hits.
Philip Sanderson led the way at the plate for Greenville collecting two of the teams four hits including a double in the 7th inning.
Greenville continues pool play Thursday night at 7pm with Friday off. Greenville will play games on Saturday and Sunday nights to complete pool play.
Single elimination bracket play gets underway on Monday August 20th.
