Greenville's Babe Ruth 13-year olds are gearing up for their version of baseball's biggest stage: The Babe Ruth World Series.
The team practiced Friday at Guy Smith Stadium, getting in some last minute preparation before they fly to Seattle early Monday morning. Head Coach Lucas Harrison says he might be even more excited than the players.
"I've been thinking about it all day everyday. I mean since we won the regional that's all I can think about is all the way across the country to go play baseball. I mean that's amazing," said Harrison
The team's first game will be Wednesday August 15th against Monroe Township, a team from New Jersey. Harrison says he's done some scouting of Greenville's first opponent, but wants his team to just focus on themselves, and playing well.
