After 10 straight days of extreme heat, Greenville Utilities tells WITN customers should expect to see an increase in utility bills this month. The utility company says there are many things customers can do to reduce bills- including keeping doors closed and setting the temperature on the thermostat at a specific number and leaving it.
"78 is a starting point, but keep in my mind once there are two people in the room half the room is uncomfortable. So there is no right or wrong here but the higher you can keep it the less it will cost to operate the systems." said Andy Yokim with GUC.
