More than 13,000 gallons of wastewater spilled into a lowland area tributary to the Tar River Monday.
Greenville Utilities says a fitting shifted out of place on a 10-inch force main, and spilled the waste water off Conley Street in the Moyewood Subdivision. GUC says the spill was discovered at 12:30p.m. Monday and was stopped by 4:30 p.m. The area adjacent to the spill was treated and the Division of Water Quality was notified.
