The athletics department has announced new additions to the game day experience for 2014.
The pregame show began 20 minutes before kickoff this year, featuring the "Storm Is Coming" video as well as PeeDee's entrance. The marching band also unveiled its new video, and the Pirates entered the stadium with a new production six minutes before the game.
According to a release, "Dowdy-Ficklen stadium had an additional 40 cell points so fans can interact with one another via their favorite social media outlets."
There were new concession stands available outside the stadium for tailgating. The locations, which sold ice among other items, were outside Gate 10 and near the Clark-LeClair Stadium. They open one-hour prior to the games typically, but Saturday they opened from 2-5 p.m.
Two and a half hours before kickoff this season, fans were able to get autographs and take photos with PeeDee.
WITN Sports Director Billy Weaver and Chris Obarski will have more reaction from the blowout victory in Sunday night's sports report.
Thank you for sharing your game day photos on WITN's Facebook page and also sending them to Carolina Camera at witn.com or email them to email@example.com.
