A fire that destroyed eight units of a Greenville apartment complex has been ruled as arson.
Greenville Fire-Rescue says the fire at Cedar Creek Woods Apartments was intentionally set in apartment #9.
The fire was discovered around 7:20 a.m. Monday and one resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
A criminal investigation has now been turned over to Greenville police.

Fire/Rescue says they were called to Cedar Creek Road around 7:20 a.m. where they found smoke coming out of Cedar Creek Woods Apartments. Several units were heavily damaged in the fire.
Everyone in the 12-unit apartment building safely got out, but one resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The Pitt County Red Cross is assisting several families that were affected.
