A resident says that he had to think fast to stop a fire that started to creep up the side of his Greenville condo.
Police believe a cigarette started the fire outside of a condo in the Willoughby Park subdivision on Victoria Court. Dispatchers say they got the call around 4:40 this afternoon.
A man, who says he lives on the bottom unit of the building, says a neighbor pounded on his front door and told him about the fire. The man says he grabbed a bucket of water and was able to take care of most of the flames.
The fire didn’t appear to displace any residents.
