One person is dead and three others injured in a shooting in downtown Greenville close to the same place where two people were murdered three years ago to the day.
One of the four victims in the early morning shooting in downtown Greenville, 21-year-old Dontae Haddock of Ayden, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say officers were in the area of East 4th Street between Reade and Cotanche streets about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, dealing with a fight that had originally started in a downtown club.
Officers were working to clear the area when several gunshots were fired near East 4th and Evans streets.
Officers responded and found four people shot. Haddock was pronounced dead at Vidant Medical Center. The condition of the other three victims and names are not being released.
Greenville police report they are continuing to interview witnesses, but that "several of these witnesses have been uncooperative."

According to an ECU alert, three men left the scene in a silver Grand Marquis and were last seen heading west on 4th Street .
Three years ago today Drew Kirby and Landon Blackley were killed outside The Other Place nightclub on Fifth Street June 30th in a drive by shooting. James Richardson of Greenville was convicted and is serving two life sentences in their deaths.
