Two ECU police officers have been placed on administrative leave after one of them was arrested for sexual battery.
Officer Clifton Griffin was charged by Greenville police on April 24th. The university says the other officer was present when the alleged battery happened. ECU has not named that other officer.
The university says neither officer was on duty at the time and both have not been on duty at ECU since it was reported.
The warrant says the 50-year-old Griffin grabbed the woman on her backside, put his tongue down her throat and put his hand inside the woman's bra.
Police Chief Scott Shelton says they acted immediately and they are in the process "of a vigorous internal investigation" to determine if more action is necessary.
Griffin was released on a $5,000 bond and has a June 11th court date.
