Three East Carolina students are facing charges after university police say they found moonshine, marijuana and a weapon in a dorm room.
ECU police say they received a call around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday from housing management. They went to Scott Hall where they smelled pot coming from one room on the third floor.
Police say the students refused to let them inside, so they obtained a search warrant. Inside officers say they found a large pocket knife, along with a container that had moonshine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in it.
18-year-old Zachary Rosenberg was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession/sell non-tax paid liquor, possession of a malt beverage by someone not 19 or 20 years old, and weapons on educational property.
Two of Rosenberg's suitemates are also facing charges. Justin Hale is charged with simple possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, while Spencer Schafer was charged with possession of a fraudulent ID.
Rosenberg's bond was set at $5,000 and he was still in jail Thursday morning.
The other two students are facing charges but were not arrested.
