Back-to-school time is right around the corner as East Carolina University students begin to leave home and move into dorms, starting Thursday.
Close to 5,400 students will start the move-in process on campus. This includes about 250 returning students, 4,300 freshman, and 1,640 transfer students.
All of those students are packing up and set to unpack into 14 residence halls. All dorms will now have wireless access to the internet since an installation project was completed this summer.
For those navigating around Greenville between Thursday and Sunday, ECU Police Lieutenant Chris Sutton advised drivers avoid 14th Street near the football stadium. Many will be using that area as an unloading zone.
Sutton also noted there would be tests over the next few days of the ECU Alert System.
The move-in process will continue through the weekend. Classes begin next Tuesday, August 26.
