GREENVILLE, N.C. - The men's basketball game between East Carolina and NC State on Dec. 21 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh will be televised on one of the Atlantic Coast Conference's regional cable networks, according to an announcement from the ACC Thursday. The game will tip-off at 12 p.m.
It'll be the 21st all-time meeting between the two instate rivals with NC State winning all 18 games previously played in the capital city. East Carolina recorded its lone victory over NC State in 2008, posting a 75-69 win during the Wolfpack's only trip to Greenville.
This will be the first regular season meeting between the Pirates and Wolfpack on the hardwood since 2010 when the two met in the opening round of the Charleston Classic.
The two teams played 12 times from 1972-82 before a 20-year hiatus between games. ECU and NC State renewed the series in 2002 squaring off in the championship game of the BCA Invitational at the RBC Center and then repeated the performance two years later.
The 2013 matchup will mark the fifth game in the series since 2006.
