A 3-night weekend to The Masters golf tournament, an autographed Beatle's album, and a trip to the Kentucky Derby were all auctioned off for a good cause Friday night in Greenville. The Dream Factory held it's 3rd annual Spread The Dream live and silent auction. The organization raises money to grant dreams for critically and chronically ill children in 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. One of those children, was Christina Carter's son, Tristan. He was born with a chronic brain illness, but next month, the whole family will be heading to Disney World.
"We're blessed that they're granting our wish. It's going to be a once in a lifetime thing, and they could do the same," said Christina Carter.
The family leaves for Disney on March 29th. Some note-worthy bids: The Rolling Stones guitar went for $3075 and the Beatles album signed by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr went for $775 dollars.
How would you like to own an electric guitar autographed by the Rolling Stones, a boxing glove autographed by Muhammad Ali, or maybe you would like to take a trip to San Francisco and Sonoma Wine country?
All of those items and more will be up for bid Friday night with proceeds going to the Dream Factory of Eastern Carolina to grant dreams to critically and chronically ill children in the east.
The third annual "Spread the Dream Wine Tasting Live & Silent Auction," will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Greenville Hilton.
WITN'S Dave Jordan will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
Some of the other live auction items include a Beatles album autographed by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, 2013 Masters Final Rounds with three night weekend stay in a private home for two, Churchill Downs VIP experience, wine dinner for 12 from Villedge Wood-Fired Kitchen & Bar, wine dinner and cooking class for 6 with Chef Mary Beth, and wine dinner for 12 at University Chophouse.
