One witness tells WITN several people, including a child, were home at the time of an early morning shooting inside a Grimesland house.
Deputies were called to 4706 Payton Lane in Grimesland between 3:30 - 4 a.m. Friday after shots were fired into the home, according to witnesses.
Investigators say a grandmother and her six grandchildren live in the house. One grandchild is 10-years-old while the others are 17 or older.
A man, who asked not to be identified, said he was home at the time of the shooting along with a handful of other people, including elementary school-aged children.
Deputies said the group was made up of four suspects, but only three of them entered the house.
A resident said a small group of people could not get into the home using the side door, so they went around to the back door.
Once inside, the witness says an intruder fired a gun at least twice.
The eye-witness tells WITN no one was injured, but the shooter left behind two bullet holes inside the home.
Deputies say the unmasked intruders took a wallet, Xbox, a cell phone and keys from the home.
Pitt County deputies are currently investigating the early morning shooting .
Investigators are still working with the victims to identify the robbers.

The call came in around 4 a.m. Friday to a home on Payton Lane.
