Deputies said they are still trying to figure out why one man lead them on a low-speed chase early Monday morning.
Deputies in Pitt County said the chase began at 2:36 Monday morning along Charles Boulevard, and a suspect was in custody around 3:30 a.m.
Deputies said speeds never topped 60 miles per hour.
Jailers said John Bolton of Winterville was brought in by deputies at 4 this morning on charges of fleeing to ellude arrest and reckless driving.
A magistrate set Bolton's bond at $7,500.
Deputies said the man lead the chase from Charles to Fire Tower Road, onto County Home Road, and it ended along Old Fire Tower Road.
No word yet on why the man started the low-speed chase.
