Crews Fight Fire Outside Of Greenville Dollar Store

Firefighters were called out to the Familly Dollar on 10th Street in Greenville Saturday afternoon after boxes behind the building caught fire.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. According to officials the empty boxes were behind the dollar store next to the dumpster. The boxes caught fire, then spread to the dumpster, then to an outside electrical box.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly. There was minimal damage.

Greenville Utilities was called to the scene to secure the electricity. Power is still out at the store at this time.

No injuries were reported. Fire officials are investigating what caused the fire.
