Controlled Burn Shuts Down Highway

Highway 33 in Grimesland was closed for most of the day Saturday because a controlled burn in the area created smoky conditions.

A section of the highway was shut down with a detour, but it is now reopen.

Firefighters were burning an abandoned home right off of the highway. They were also using the controlled burn as a training exercise.
