Downed power lines and a utility pole closed a busy Pitt County highway Wednesday morning.
State troopers say an 18-wheeler missed a turn on U.S. 13/264A and tried to turn around at in the parking lot of the South 13 Saloon.
The truck took out a low lying power line and the utility pole.
The highway was shut down until a GUC crew could remove the downed wires around 1 p.m.
No word from troopers on whether the driver will face charges.
