Police have released more details on a burglary suspect locked up in the Pitt County Detention Center.
Greenville Police say that officers responded to 98 Brookwood Dr., Apt. F around 11:20 Friday night for a report of a damage to property call in progress. Officers say that 22-year-old Markevious Cherry ran away from the scene and was tracked by a canine unit.
Officers say that Cherry was found in a wooded area near the Tar River.
Cherry was charged with 1st degree burglary, larceny, and injury to personal property.
Cherry is being held on a $200,000.
A man in the east accused of burglary is locked up on a several hundred thousand dollar bond.
Jail records show 22-year-old Markevious Cherry locked up in the Pitt County Detention Center on charges of 1st degree burglary, larceny, and injury to personal property.
Jail officials say Cherry was brought in around 12:50 Saturday morning.
Cherry is being held on a $200,000 secured bond.
