There's been another ATM theft in Pitt County, this time at a college.
The latest target was an ATM in the Goess Building at Pitt Community College.
Campus police say it happened around 4:30 a.m. The burglars broke out a glass door, managed to pry open the ATM, and get away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Chief Jay Shingleton says he does not think this ATM theft is related to the so-called hole in the wall cases that have plagued convenience stores and other businesses where safes have been stolen.
The chief says they are currently reviewing surveillance video which they are not planning to release.
