Police have a Greenville man in custody after they say he robbed a pharmacy this morning.
The Walgreens on South Memorial Drive was held up around 7:35 a.m. after a man approached the pharmacy counter and gave them a note, demanding prescription drugs. Police say the man kept one hand in his pocket as if he might have a gun.
A quantity of narcotics and pain killers, as well as syringes were taken.
A short time later, officers captured Jeffrey Hunnings on Battle Street after a foot chase. He was taken to the police station, and then taken to Vidant Medical Medical Center when police say it became apparent he was taken a number of Oxycontin pills before he was captured.
Police say 32-year-old will be charged with common law robbery after his release from the hospital.
