NEW INFO: Sweepstakes Business Robbed

Greenville police said a sweepstakes parlor was robbed before most businesses open on Tuesday morning.

Police says around 7:20 a.m. the Carolina Cyber Center was robbed.

An employee told officers that he was struck several times after a man came into the business and threatened them. The robber took money and left through the back door.

The robber is described as a black man, about 5'10" tall with light complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap.

Tuesday's robbery makes the third since 2011 for the business, and the second in the earlier morning time frame.

On Sunday, August 21st of 2011, at 6:30 in the morning, a clerk told police 48-year-old James Freeman gave up his name to play a game, then robbed the store. Clerks said he went out to his car, pulled a black shirt over his head, then returned with a gun demanding money.

Then on November 12th of 2012, employees said $2,300 was stolen around 1:15 that morning from the Carolina Cyber Center. Police said in the 2012 robbery, two men came into the business, one forced an employee to the rear of the business at gun point to open the cash register. The second man was the lookout.
