A 19-year-old wanted for robbing a man at gunpoint last week, is now in jail.
Gregory Barnes sits in the Pitt County Detention Center after being on the run since last Friday. He's charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon With Intent To Kill and Robbery With A Dangerous Weapon.
Pitt county deputies say Barnes and Quinton Payton went to his neighbors home and told the victim to step outside. Deputies say Barnes then fired a shotgun into the ground and demanded money.
Barnes took off after the crime but Payton was quickly arrested.
Pitt County deputies say they've arrested one man and are on the hunt for another after a homeowner was robbed early this morning.
Deputies say they are searching for Gregory Barnes of Walstonburg.
They say the man is wanted for this morning's armed robbery and assault that took place around 2:30 a.m. at a residence on Glenwood Lane outside of Farmville.
At first the Sheriff's Office said it was a home invasion, but now tell WITN News that the victim was called outside, confronted by a armed man and then forced back inside his home where he was robbed.
Deputies have already charged Quinton Payton with robbery.
They say Payton came to his neighbor's home and told him to step outside. That's when Barnes fired a shotgun into the ground and told the victim to give him the money, according to deputies.
Records show Barnes has served time in Greene County, and last got out in December for possession of stolen goods.
