Greenville Police Confirm Man Shot During Home Invasion Robbery


Greenville Police confirm that at man was shot during the course of a what they say was a home invasion style robbery.

Officials say that 2 men wearing all black entered the home at 1211 Fleming Street and demanded cash. We're told that a person inside the home put up some resistance and was shot once in the leg.

Police say that the 2 men ran away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Officials say the attack does not appear to be random.

Greenville Police are currently at the scene of a reported shooting.

A Greenville Fire & Rescue official on scene confirms with WITN they responded to a report of a man shot in the leg at 1211 Fleming Street just after 2:00 p.m.

A WITN crew member is on scene and says that a man was taken from the home on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance which then left the scene. Police can be seen talking to people in front of the home.
