According to Highway Patrol and Ayden woman was killed in a wreck on Saturday.
It happened on Highway 118 in Craven county near the Pitt county line.
Troopers say 66-year-old Norma Lewis was traveling at a high rate of speed when she ran off the road, over-corrected then struck a ditch and tree.
Lewis was killed in the wreck. Troopers are still investigating.
