Ayden Man Arrested For Indoor Pot Grow Operation
Police say they found an active indoor marijuana grow operation, not far from a school.
Twenty-six-year-old John Harris of Ayden is facing a handful of drug charges including manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Ayden police say on Tuesday they found more than 12 pounds of marijuana and paraphernalia inside Harris' home on Montague Street. The home is a couple of blocks from Ayden Elementary School.
Police say they found a homemade lighting system and other items used in the growing operation.
Harris is also charged with manufacturing and trafficking marijuana. His bond was set at $200,000.
