An attorney who was arrested twice last year now wants to become a judge.
David Sutton filed this morning in Raleigh for one of the open district court judge seats in Pitt County.
Sutton, who is a Greenville attorney, was indicted last summer on a witness intimidation charge, and then for a resisting charge after a November 15th disturbance at the Pitt County Courthouse security checkpoint.
Neither case has gone to trial.
Sutton will run against Judge Gwyn Hilburn.
The filing deadline ended today at noon.
