The attorney for a Greenville neighborhood association that opposes recent changes to the "3-unrelated rule" is seeking public records from the city, including e-mails from council.
Earlier this month city council changed the number of unrelated people living in a home to four in the University Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative District, over the objection of many residents.
The Tar River University Neighborhood Association said it planned to take legal action to block the change.
Today, an attorney hired by the group apparently took the first step by requesting copies of public documents, including e-mails, text messages and other communications between the mayor, council, and those on the planning and zoning board concerning the 3-unrelated rule.
