Arrest Made In Attempted Murder Of Greenville Man

A Greenville man is behind bars, accused of trying to kill another Greenville man last month.

Wesley Davis has been charged with attempted first degree murder and assault inflicting seriously bodily injury. He was arrested on Tuesday and jailed on a $100,000 secured bond.

Police say Gregory Taylor was found on May 4th, lying unconscious in a vacant lot on Myrtle Avenue. They say the 53-year-old Taylor is a known drug offender and the attack possibly followed an argument about the use of crack cocaine.

Since that time police have been locating friends of the victim and interviewing other known drug users. Taylor remains in the hospital in serious condition while police say other arrests are possible in the attack.
