The man accused of stabbing his half brother with a pocket knife now faces new charges of stealing a boat.

Deputies tell WITN 27-year-old Kristopher Edwards of Newport was already in jail facing assault charges for attacking his half brother 25-year-old Michael Sanders.

The two half brothers were fighting over a woman when the incident happened last Friday, authorities said.

During an investigation, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office said investigators found a boat stolen from Pitt County.

According to deputies, Edwards took the boat from a locked barn off of VOA Site C Road in Greenville.

Deputies at the Carteret County Jail confirm Edwards is facing charges for breaking and entering along with larceny in relation to the boat thievery.

Robert Tyson, 30, is also charged in connection to the boat theft. Tyson faces similar charges as Edwards.
