A big economic boost for Pitt County was announced today as ASMO North America says it will add another 200 jobs to its Greenville plant by the end of 2016.
The automotive parts manufacturer already employes more than 530 people at its Sugg Parkway plant that been operating since 1995.
The company manufactures front wiper motor linkages, arm and blades and radiator fan motors.
Mayor Allen Thomas says locating somewhere is one thing, but choosing to expand is another. He says Greenville will be there with ASMO as it expands and will provide them with a workforce.
The company will invest $50 million in the expansion. Help from the state Job Development Investment Grant program made the expansion possible, according to the Governor's Office.
