Case Delayed Again For Mother Facing Murder Charge

A Pitt County mother was given another continuance Tuesday on the charge she murdered her infant son.

A grand jury indicted 28-year-old Sandy Etheridge earlier this summer. The baby was just 10 weeks old when he was hospitalized back in March. Deputies say his mother shook Dakota so violently that he suffered brain injuries. He was later taken off life support at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Authorities say Etheridge has four other children that have been taken away by the Department of Social Services.

A judge continue the case until December 7th.
