The other robbery happened late Friday night at the Sonic on Greenville Boulevard. Police say as employees were closing up for the night a masked gunman robbed the business. The robber fired one rifle shot into the air, but no employees were hurt.

The robber is described as 5'6" to 5'7', slender build, wearing all black and carrying an older looking rifle. The race and gender of the person is not known.

Why ANY rational, responsible, law-abiding adult who works a night job that is open to the public would NOT carry a firearm for self-defense is beyond me. The police have no duty or legal obligation to be your personal bodyguard. You are responsible for YOUR OWN safety and security. Average response time for a 911 call in Pitt an Beaufort counties is about 12 minutes. A LOT can happen in 12 minutes. Average response time from your holster is about 2 seconds. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do THAT math as to which way is more effective for Self Defense... Get a permit. Get Training. Get a good quality firearm. STAY AWARE of your surroundings. And take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for your own safety...

I was robbed at Dunkin Donuts on Valentine's Day and have had to deal with the anxiety and flashbacks since then. I feel sorry for whoever was robbed. It may have been the same man that robbed me...

I will let you in on a little secret, there is a whole world out there west of I95. Why stay in this thug infested hole when there are literally thousands of other towns out there like Greenville, but without the rampant crime, racist attitudes, and insular thinking that characterize Greenville.

Well Greenville is my home and always will be. I'm not going anywhere because some thugs want to rob this place or that. I report what I can and let the cops handle the rest. Unless I wanted to live out in the middle of no where, I think it is safe to say crime would be anywhere.

I lived in Miami for 3 years and have been living in Greenville for 8 months. I'd rather take my chances in beauriful Miami Florida than little crime filled boring Greenville.

G'ville really has become a horrible place to live. Seems like criminals outnumber law abiding citizens. I thought Detroit and Miami was bad, but this place takes the prize for crime.
