A structure fire in Pitt County has been contained.
Dispatchers tells WITN the blaze broke out just before 5 am Wednesday morning in Falkland.
According to authorities the building on NC 43 used to be a store but is now used for personal storage.
It took crews several hours to put out the flames and there was a detour set up. Traffic is back to normal now.
No word yet on the cause.

Information continues to come into our newsroom about an abandoned structure fire in the Pitt County town of Falkland.
Pitt county dispatchers tell WITN that the fire broke out just before 5:00 Wednesday morning.
We're told the structure is empty and is directly across the street from the Falkland Post office on NC 43. There are hoses around the roadway and crews will detour drivers from NC 43 where firefighters are battling the flames.
