Missing Greenville Man Found Dead

A Greenville man reported missing on Monday has been found dead in Greene county.

Greenville police say 49-year-old Scott Welton was last seen on Sunday in his Baywood Chem Dry van.

His wife says he did not come to work on Monday and then called police. Early Wednesday morning, his van was located near Lizzie near a farm in Greene county.

Investigators say an autopsy report does not suggest foul play, but we're told they'll await toxicology reports to determine the cause of death.

I only knew him for the 35 minutes it took for him to clean my carpets, and I can tell you that he was perhaps one of the most intelligent and nicest people I have ever met. I hope the family can be strong and wish them well.

I have known Mr. Welton since 2007, when he and his son first cleaned our carpet at work. He's one of the nicest and kindest people you will ever meet. My heart goes out to his family. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with this family. I met Scott 2 weeks ago when he was here doing our carpets and he was such a nice guy. I hope the family will be able to continue after such a huge loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with Christine and the family. You could not have met a nicer person than Scott. He will be missed terribly by eveyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. May you feel gods strength holding you up during these long hard days ahead.
