Motel Clerk Bound, Forced In Storage Room During Holdup

A motel desk clerk was bound and forced into a storage room during a robbery early Monday morning.

The Country Hearth Motel on Corporate Drive in Goldsboro was robbed around 3:15 a.m.

Police spotted three men who fit the general description of the robbers at Ash Street & Jefferson Avenue. Police say they uncovered evidence that linked the three men to the holdup.

William Warren, Joseph Simms and Aaron Gross have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, assault by pointing a gun, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The three Goldsboro men were jail on $750,000 secured bonds.

    To the hotel clerk, we're glad you are OK. I worked as a night auditor in a hotel for a year, and I had a few experiences that were scary. That's why I got a concealed carry permit, some advanced training in self-defense and a can of "bear mace" as well. I suggest you do the same. The only person who can protect you is YOU... Stay safe, and as an ex night shift hotel clerk myself, my prayers are with you.
