A North Carolina State Trooper from the east received the agency's second highest award Wednesday.
Trooper Beau Daniels was honored in Greenville Wednesday morning for his efforts in evacuating several residents from a burning home last December in Tyrrell County.
Department of Crime Control and Public Safety Secretary, Reuben Young was on hand to deliver the Commendation and Gold Circle Awards to Trooper Daniels.
Colonel Randy Glover, who oversees the entire Highway Patrol also attended and presented Daniels with the Highway Patrol Samaritan Award.
Trooper Daniels says he's honored to receive the awards, but says he believes any of his colleagues would have done the same.
And Trooper Daniels says he's ready to help out again the next time he's needed.
