The postal service across the country put a stamp on hunger Saturday.
Earlier in the week the postal carriers delievered bags to homes. And today many people filled up those bags and left them for their mail carriers-- who then delivered the food to a local food bank.
Last year Pitt County carriers collected 14 thousand pounds and in the food banks 34 counties in our state they collected over 300 thousand pounds.
If you missed out on putting a bag by the mailbox - the carriers will also be picking up bags on their monday route.
