Grand Jury Indicts Man For Kathy Taft's Murder

A Wake County grand jury has indicted a Raleigh man for the death of Kathy Taft.

In addition to murder and rape, the grand jury also indicted Jason Williford for burglary.

Taft, a state Board of Education member from Greenville, was found in a friend's Raleigh home beaten on March 6th. She died three days later at WakeMed.

Taft was staying at the home on Cartier Drive while recovering from cosmetic surgery.

The 30-year-old Williford was originally arrested April 16th on murder and rape charges. He lived about a block away from where Taft was staying.
